NewCore Wireless’ Review of CTIA 2012
NewCore Wireless was at CTIA 2012 in New Orleans and what a show it was!
The wireless tradeshow was held in New Orleans and heavily focused on spectrum. CTIA President and CEO Steve Largent dedicated the vast majority of his introductory keynote address to discussing the challenges carriers will face if they don’t get fresh spectrum to use within the next few years. “We simply need more spectrum,” he said. “Getting more spectrum is the No.1 goal of CTIA.”
Verizon Wireless CEO Dan Mead similarly lobbied for the government to open up new airwaves for mobile data services. “Innovation is at risk today due to the spectrum shortage that we face,” he said. “If additional spectrum is not available in the near-term, mobile data will exceed capacity by 2015.”
On the showroom floor we saw tons of handsets and hardware, interesting mobile security solutions and on a collection of compelling accessories.
One thing is certain, wireless is as HOT in 2012 as the weather in New Orleans in the summer!
